Yet again, its highly experienced and talented winemaker, Sue Hodder, has crafted a stunning wine showing deep colour and intense aromas of plum, ripe cherry and spice box. The palate is a masterclass in contemporary Coonawarra Shiraz with primary flavours of dark cherry, blackberry and damson alongside savoury notes of black pepper followed by emerging hints of mocha, liquorice and tapenade. Fresh, vibrant acidity works perfectly in tandem with finely wrought tannins to provide a wine with beautiful mid-weight structure and supreme balance. The mid-palate and the length are immensely satisfying and impressive. This elegant, refined and complex wine is precociously enjoyable now and will also reward time in the cellar.
