The historic estate of Castello di Fonterutoli lies just south of Castellina in Chianti Classico. The Siepi 2018 is a Toscana IGT due to its blend of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot. The 2018 is a triumph, luminous carmine in colour, its aroma an explosion of fresh ripe summer berries. On the palate there are waves of intense black and red currants, followed by dark chocolate and wild herbs, silky tannins; there is a beautiful balance between the power of the fruit and the acidity driving through the wine. It has extraordinary length, a classic from the start. Delicious now but will age beautifully.
