Nyetimber Tillington Single Vineyard 2016

One of the most impressive English wines I have tasted, and I am not in the slightest bit swayed that the vineyard is in the next village to where I grew up in West Sussex. Pale gold in colour, expressive nose of almonds and raspberry leaf, a very fine mousse.  On the palate it has great depth, apples and citrus fruit with a beautiful lemon zest giving it an electric kick. The texture is creamy,  wonderfully nuanced and harmonious, leaving you with masses to think about, and enjoy.. 73% Pinot Noir and 27% Chardonnay aged on lees for 60 months. 12.0%

RRP £110 Stockists Harrods, Fortnum and Mason, Lay and Wheeler, Berry Bros and other independents
